La Vallée des Arômes Marselan is an elegant expression of this modern crossing between Cabernet Sauvignon and Grenache, grown in the rugged Haute Vallée de l’Orb, a mountain vineyard tucked into the foothills of the Cévennes and the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park in southern France.
The vines are planted in pebbles and alluvial soils, where rigorous parcel selection ensures the grapes reach full phenolic ripeness. The winemaking involves a long traditional maceration and is aged on fine lees for two months to round out the tannins while preserving the grape’s intense fruit profile.
Deep ruby red in colour with an inviting nose of sweet, jammy fruits, ripe cherry and blackberry, with savoury hints of cigar box and garrigue. Elegant and beautifully rounded, offering a silky texture with soft tannins, a mix of ripe summer red fruits and dried black fruits, with delicate pepper and spice notes on the finish.
Its structural richness and ripe fruit make it a perfect match for spicy lamb tagine or a hearty cassoulet.
Forward-looking and creative, cooperative Alma Cersius dates back to 1937 with the founding of the first cooperative cellar in Cers, where the modern winery exists today. It is a collective of 152 passionate and committed winegrowers who pool their knowledge and expertise, working over 1,300 hectares of vineyards across Cers, Portiragnes, Puimisson and Villeneuve-lès-Béziers.
