La Vallée des Arômes Chardonnay is a sensory tribute to the distinctive terroir of the Haute Vallée de l’Orb, a mountain vineyard tucked into the foothills of the Cévennes and the Haut-Languedoc Regional Nature Park in southern France.
Grapes are harvested during the night to lock in freshness, with a rigorous parcel selection and cool fermentation using selected yeasts. The wine then undergoes a two month maturation period on fine lees, to build a subtle, creamy texture without the influence of oak.
Bright, pale gold in colour, with a vibrant nose of gooseberry, melon and mango, with floral hints of bergamot and jasmine. The palate is crisp and focused, driven by bright acidity and zesty notes of quince and lemon zest, with those sweeter tropical fruits coming through on the mid-palate and extending through to the finish.
This crisp, floral Chardonnay is an ideal companion for fresh seafood, goat’s cheese, or light poultry dishes.
Forward-looking and creative, cooperative Alma Cersius dates back to 1937 with the founding of the first cooperative cellar in Cers, where the modern winery exists today. It is a collective of 152 passionate and committed winegrowers who pool their knowledge and expertise, working over 1,300 hectares of vineyards across Cers, Portiragnes, Puimisson and Villeneuve-lès-Béziers.
