An unconventional, aromatic take on Australian Shiraz that breaks the mould with its beautifully lifted perfume and effortlessly silky texture.
This clever blend sources fruit from a historic old-vine property in the Riverland, dating back to post-war soldier settlements. Defying regional stereotypes, a small portion of the white grape Zibibbo (Muscat) is co-fermented with the Shiraz using wild yeasts. Aged briefly in seasoned French oak and bottled young, this minimal-intervention approach preserves the pure, vibrant energy and natural perfume of the fruit.
It displays a bright, translucent ruby colour in the glass, the nose wonderfully unexpected, bursting with fragrant notes of ripe nectarine, peach blossom, wild raspberry, and a touch of exotic spice. The palate is soft, juicy, and remarkably minerally, offering a succulent wave of macerated strawberries and cracked black pepper framed by ultra-fine, silky tannins.
A versatile partner for spiced dishes, it pairs surprisingly well lightly chilled with salt and pepper squid.
