Supporting the Irish Guide Dogs at Cork Jazz Festival

Last Thursday night I went along to support the Irish Guide Dogs as they launched their partnership with Cork Jazz Festival. Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind is a national charity dedicated to helping persons who are blind or vision impaired or families of children with autism to achieve improved mobility and independence.

We’ll be helping the Guide Dogs in anyway we can in the run up to Christmas, more on that to come, but it was great to see such a good turnout from humans and canine alike. Music was provided by Art Crimes Band (pictures 3 & 4) who helped the audience get into the swing of the upcoming Jazz Festival, and we supplied the wine to lighten the mood further. That’s me, the chap in the middle, pictured below with guide dog in-training, Roxy, who is a regular visitor to @curiousmolly at our Cork HQ.

Ford Motor Company has donated a brand spanking new Ford Focus valued at €20,000 which will be raffled during the Festival in order to raise much needed funds. The winning ticket will be drawn on Sunday night at the Festival Club at 10.30pm by the Lord Mayor of Cork, Councillor Terry Shannon.

There will be a team of people from Irish Guide Dogs for the Blind on the streets of Cork during the festival to raise as much funds as possible. To be in with a chance to win make sure to get your ticket for only €5. You can also buy your ticket online, for more details visit www.guidedogs.ie. Remember, all money raised goes directly to the Guide Dogs.
