Deep purple in colour, the nose leaps forward with notes of fresh blueberries and blackberry preserve, with star anise, nutmeg and cocoa all evident. Velvety and plush on the palate, there’s tons of rich blackberry/cherry fruit, some tangy cedar and lingering cigar box notes, all softened out with the milk chocolate tannins providing sweetness and softness to the finish. It’s like taking a big mouthful of Black Forest cake — having your cake and drinking it!
The fruit for the Chocolate Factory is sourced from hand tended blocks in the Blewitt Springs sub-region of McLaren Vale, aged in a mix of new and well-seasoned hogsheads for up to 12 months prior to bottling with minimal filtraton.
Enjoy with your favourite lamb dish!
