From 40 to 50 year old Chardonnay vines on the Mâconnais slopes of the ancient Châtellenie de Vérizet.
Grapes are harvested on the early side to retain a nice acidity, fermentation and maturation is all in stainless steel, with an enticing six months lees-ageing contributing to a rounder, fuller body. White fruits — pear, melon and peach — intermingle with hints of white flowers, fig and lemon zest. Temperature is important here, not too cold. Well rounded on the palate with a great balance between fruit and minerality, structured and long with refreshing citrus influences on the finish.
Pairs brilliantly with creamy chicken dishes, shellfish or goats cheese.
