Less known than the valley’s famous Sauvignons, the Loire produces some beautiful Chardonnay.
This is sourced from a few parcels across the region, hence the broader Val de Loire (Loire valley) designation.
There’s no oak involvement here so it’s all about fresh fruit flavours, hints of tropical fruit (banana, pineapple) intermingling with crunchy green apple and citrus. What sets it apart is its fine mineral base, this is beautifully weighted with a fine texture that just glides over the tongue, the punchy fruit easing back into a long and elegant finish.
Serve this up with oysters, roast chicken or just on its own as a refined and refreshing aperitif.
