A symbiotic marriage of Spain’s two greatest red grapes aged in two oaks.
Organic Grenache and Tempranillo grapes are fermented separately using indigenous yeasts from the vineyards, before being put into separate barrel sets — the Grenache in French oak, the Tempranillo in American — to age for 12 months. The final blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Tempranillo was decided before bottling.
Dark cherry in colour and highly perfumed, aromas of wild strawberry, garrigue, leather and vanilla swirl and intermingle. Silky and full on the palate, with chocolate powder tannins and a fine bone minerality, black and red berry fruits dominate initially with elements of coffee bean, tobacco leaf, coconut and pepper all evident as the wine opens. Smooth, soft and seamless, showing the art of blending contrasts.
