This Weißburgunder (Pinot Blanc) Reserve originates from the oldest vines of the Jungherrn single vineyard just outside Vienna, a site characterized by shell limestone.
Grapes were hand-picked at optimal ripeness, fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, then placed in small Mahartsberger oak barriques for around six months.
Displaying opulent, multifaceted aromas of baked pear, apple, vanilla and floral notes, the palate is ripe, rounded and minerally, with juicy fruit, caramel and subtle spice notes revealing themselves on the long finish.
Wonderfully drinkable when young, this will age for 8-10 years from vintage once carefully stored in cool, dark conditions.
