From its original home in the vineyards of Champagne and Burgundy, the Weissburgunder (a.k.a. Pinot Blanc) grape made its way to Austria, where it found a natural home in the ideal conditions offered by the Klosterneuburg Monastery Wine Estate’s vineyards in Kahlenbergerdorf. Surrounded by the slopes of the Nußberg, the Kahlenberg and the Leopoldsberg and bordered to the east by the Danube, these vineyards produce superior quality year after year.
This Weissburgunder’s exotic fruit aromas of mango and papaya, are followed by vanilla, fleshy pear and zesty lemon with a nutty harmonious finish. The extract-rich body and a finely integrated underlying acidity lend this Pinot Blanc great elegance and depth and make it a great partner for asparagus, white meaty fish and anti pasti.
