The grapes for this powerful Grüner Veltliner come from the oldest vines of the Hengsberg single vineyard, part of the Klosterneuburg estate, the oldest wine estate in Austria.
Grapes were hand-picked at optimal ripeness, fermented in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, then placed in small Mahartsberger oak barriques for around six months.
This is a wonderfully rich, expressive and complex Grüner, with opulent baked apple and tropical fruit notes, the palate full and creamy with well balanced acidity, and a long finish layered with floral and spice notes.
Deliciously drinkable when young, this will comfortably age for 8-10 years from vintage once carefully stored in cool, dark conditions.
