Gemischter Satz a ‘field blend’ wine, made from several different co-fermented grape varieties. Historically, it was associated with ‘heurige’ wine taverns, where it was and still is drunk as a jug wine, often as a spritzer. The image and quality of the wine is changing now however, and this is an example of a top quality well crafted blend.
Unifying the typical Viennese grape varieties Grüner Veltliner, Welschriesling, Riesling, Weissburgunder (Pinot blanc), Chardonnay, Gewürztraminer and Muscat, the wine is youthful and fresh with a multi-layered bouquet of green apple, white floral nuances and notes of stone-fruit. A creamy green herb character with ripe sweet lemon oil pairs with lively acidity to make this definitely worth savouring, rather than just tipping back with fizz!
