From the heel of Italy comes this rich, full-bodied Primitivo, more familiar to some as California’s Zinfandel grape.
This is all about the ‘terroir’, the vineyard soil and microclimate, these relatively young vines (only around 20 years old) producing massively impressive structure and flavour profile. Heady aromas of plum, dark cherry and cocoa, the palate is soft with mellow acidity and profuse flavours of milk chocolate, mulberry, toffee and cassis.
Pair with rigatone, aubergine and sausage in a red wine sauce.
