Savian Prosecco Spumante Rosé Extra Dry

€22.75
Description
Gold medal winning organic pink Prosecco that you will go all amore for.
The grapes for this newly classified Prosecco Rosé — 90% classic Prosecco grape, Glera, plus 10% Pinot Noir — are grown in Savian’s own organic vineyards in Loncon di Annone, in Veneto. The wine is vinified in the traditional Charmat method, with the small proportion of Pinot Noir adding a gorgeous powder pink blush.
Elegant aromas of rose petals, peonies and raspberry dance on the lively spritz, which in turn provides a lovely lift and freshness on the palate. This is beautifully balanced, crisp and refreshing with hints of papaya and strawberry, and a soft, fruity finish.
Perfect on its own but great with seafood, particularly raw fish or prawn salad.

Savian is a third generation family winery founded by Marco Savian in 1925, after being granted a small holding of four hectares for his service in the First World War. Marco built a house and tended the tough, arid and clayey soils by hand, planting vineyards in a previously desolate land, once known as Bandita after the bandits and brigands that roamed the nearby oak forests.
The modern winery and extended 42 hectare estate is situated between two rivers where the provinces of Venice, Pordenone and Treviso meet, taking in the Lison Pramaggiore and Venice DOCs. Pinot Grigio, Lison Classico and Chardonnay do well here, along with Merlot, Refosco and Cabernet Franc. Ahead of current trends, the Savian family converted all vineyards to organic farming in 1993, and in 2007 installed a solar farm to produce their own sustainable energy to help power the winery.
