This is a stunning, full-on oaked Reserva, glass-coatingly thick with wonderful aromatics evoking summer berries, cigar box, cedar and menthol. The palate is rich and velvety, beautifully tempered with time, with a flavour chart that extends from ripe fruit through savoury meats, earthy woody notes and winter spices. Old vine fine wine from this 200 year-old family estate in the Douro. Port-grapes Touriga Nacional and Touriga Franca plus Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo) are treated to a mix of new and old French oak barriques for a minimum of twelve months, with a further year in bottle prior to release.
