Quinta Seara d’Ordens 10 Year Old White Port (500ml)

36.00

Description

From a blend of native white grapes, this aged Porto Branco is something quite special.

With the best white grapes from the oldest vines on the Leite family estate, this is initially aged for 3 years in 225 litre French oak barriques before being transferred to larger oak barrels to mature a further 11 years.

Honeyed gold and slightly cloudy in appearance, the flavour profile is of dried fruits, nuts and spices—dried apricots, figs, almonds, hazelnuts, vanilla, butterscotch, orange peel, caramel and honey all distinguishable. Thick and unctuous, the flavours continue to develop and linger for some minutes after tasting, really fabulous.

Goes very well with a range of not-too-sweet desserts, serve slightly chilled in the summer and at room temperature in the winter.

Producer: Quinta Seara d'Ordens

The Leite family settled in Poiares Seara, in Portugal's now renowned Douro wine and Port region, in the late 18th century, immediately planting vineyards, olive groves and almond trees, some of which survive to this day.

Over two hundred years later the estate remains in the Leite family, with three brothers of the current generation all living on the estate with their families. Chief custodian João Leite Moreira oversees production of high quality DOC Douro wines and continuing a long tradition of producing outstanding Ports.
