Skilled winemaker and master blender John Quarisa does it again with a new signature Malbec from three parcels across south eastern Australia.
Fermented separately, the three parcels were brought together, blended and placed in a mix of 2 year old American hogsheads and stainless steel with premium French oak staves for 8 months, after which a final blend is bottled.
The resulting wine is heavily focused on fruit, big and bold in colour and emanating ripe cherries, blueberries and damson notes, with hints of wild herbs, cigar box and vanilla. The palate is lush, full and loaded with sweet fruit, blackberry, plum and blueberry pie, held together by balsamic-like acidity and tartness, softening out to a smooth, indulgent finish with hints of cocoa powder, violets and vanilla.
