The signature wine for this family producer in Jumilla, this organic Monastrell has minimal intervention from vineyard to bottle for the ultimate expression of terroir.
Fermented and matured exclusively in steel — no oak at all here — this is all vibrant red berries, raspberries and redcurrants, with ripe plum and a hint of balsamic on both the nose and palate. The texture is smooth with chalky tannins reflecting the chalky soils of the vineyard, with dark chocolate notes adding some savouriness and extra allure.
Jumilla is blessed with a climate and soils that make organic farming easier and more cost effective than in other regions, where pests and vine disease are naturally mitigated by the harsh, arid conditions. Thankfully grapes thrive here too, none moreso than the Monastrell grape which has found its spiritual home here.
