Description
Lovely crisp, refreshing white from the Airén grape here, grown at altitude in the searing summer heat of Jumilla in south east Spain. Cold night time temperatures keep the acidity and alcohol in check and cold fermentation ensures the wine produced is crisp and fruity.
Clean and fruity on the nose with aromas of pineapple, papaya and citrus, the palate is refreshing and lively, with a soft, smooth texture hinting at stone fruit, melon and some floral notes, and a crisp, citrussy, mouthwatering finish.
Perfect with any seafood dish and especially paella.

Producer: Pacheco Family Wines
This family-run bodega dates back to 1948 when Francisco Pacheco began to make wine from a small press at the family home. Today, with third generation sisters Elena and Emi Pacheco at the helm, the winery is now one of the most impressive and technologically advanced in the region, with a bustling wine tourism scene complementing the outstanding wines, olive oil and almonds being produced and exported.
Most of the vineyards are organic. Synonymous with Jumilla, the Monstrell grape is central to what Pacheco do in the vineyards and the winery, the hardy grape perfectly suited to the extreme conditions in Spain's arid south-east. Vineyards are covered in rough chalk stones, helping to reflect the sunlight from the parched limestone soils where low-cropped bush vines are dry-grown, low-yielding but producing oustanding fruit quality without the need for chemicals.
