Mont Rocher ‘Vieilles Vignes’ Carignan 2019

Description

The old vineyards for Mont Rocher are perched high in the dramatic hills and terraces above the Vallée d’Agly, in the eastern Pyrenees, with a unique character of their own. Famed black schist is interspersed with pockets of limestone from the higher slopes, combining richness and power with a fresher, more finely defined character.

Lightly oaked, this juicy wine has a beautiful cherry red colour, showing an abundance of intense red berry fruit and vanilla on the nose. The palate is soft and full flavoured, with blackberry and raspberry to the fore, hints of cedar, herbs and peppery spice, and a smooth easy drinking finish.
