Situated north of Lisbon, just 7km from the Atlantic coast as the crow flies, the family owned AdegaMãe estate and winery benefit from a terroir strongly influenced by the prevailing sea breezes, producing wines that brim with character, freshness and minerality.
This red blend of Touriga Nacional, Tinta Miúda and Merlot is fermented in steel vats for two weeks, with partial ageing (a proportion of the wine) in French oak barrels to produce a roble-style young red. Ruby red in colour, the nose offers intense notes of raspberries, cassis, violet and pepper. The palate is youthful, bursting with ripe red fruits supported by fine tannins and a crisp, refreshing acidity.
Delicious on its own as a summery red, or serve up lightly chilled with grilled salted cod, or with characuterie and mild cheeses.
