From Vignerons des Pierres Dorées comes this expressive wine made from Gamay and vinified by the typical Beaujolais wine making process of semi carbonic maceration for 14 days after which it time it is aged on fine lees. ‘Pépites’ are the characterful and mineral stones which make up the highly distinctive terroir of the region and these coupled with the Gneiss soil gives the fine aromas and complexity to the wine.
Deep and brilliantly ruby red in colour, with concentrated aromas of spices, wild berries and flowers, on the palate the intensity is fresh and forward with plums, myrtle and spices and a hint of liquorice. Pleasingly round and ripe with silky tannins, this is well-balanced with a mineral finish.
Serve at 13°C, with red grilled meats, cooked fish, pork sausage and goat’s cheese.
