From predominantly weathered gravels threaded with clay from the hills of Nelson, New Zealand, the Kahurangi Estate Sauvignon Blanc is fermented in 100% Stainless Steel to preserve the clean, cool fresh flavours commonly associated with New Zealand Sauvie. Whereas Marlborough has racy winds from the east coast making for tangy, high acid Sauvignon, Nelson is sheltered on three sides so they have all the aromatics but a lovely soft texture.
This wine has aromas of tropical fruit flavours, capsicum and gooseberries and on the palate a hint of ripe green apple with elements of passion-fruit, mango and more fresh gooseberry which culminates in a fresh and zesty lime finish. A delicious, crisp, refreshing wine which performs well served chilled with seafood, seasonal asparagus or freshly shucked oysters.
