Gordo boasts an opaque ruby-red colour along with absolutely gorgeous scents of jammy red fruit and sweet spice. Full, opulent and expansively flavoured, with rich raspberry, caramel and cinnamon hints, and a sinfully-smooth, velvety mouthfeel. Sensational! Gordo is a blend of organically-farmed, old-vine (almost 50 years old), high-altitude (713m) Monastrell (70%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (30%). The style is roble, with maturation for 3 months in 2-year-old oak barrels. Yecla is the smallest wine region of Murcia, SE Spain, where the classic style is a rich, lusciously fruity red made from mainly Monastrell/Mourvèdre.
