Delightfully soft and expressive Merlot from the Triveneto area around Venice in the north-east of Italy.
This is on the lower side of medium-bodied, perfect for summer drinking or sipping with pizza and pasta dishes. Hedgerow berries abound on the nose but silky tannins keep the sweet fruit in check on the palate, blackberries, raspberries and blueberries to the fore, backed up by spicy vanilla notes. Just a lovely, uncomplicated, easy-drinking Merlot.

Producer: Folonari
Folonari is a range of wines from the Veneto region of north-east Italy, founded in 1825 by Francesco Folonari, a shop keeper from Edolo, near Milan. Francesco started sourcing parcels of wine for his shop customers, trying to provide the best quality possible at a low price. Word got out, demand grew and the Folonari winery was born. Today winemaker Marco Galeazzo carries the legacy and mission of Folonari, to continue delivering classic Italian varietals at an everyday price point.
