Lovely unoaked French Chardonnay from Burgundy family Descombe showing great typicity for the varietal.
Cool fermented and aged on the lees for flavour and texture development, this is bright, fresh and fruit-forward, with aromas of melon, green apple and citrus, and subtle toasty, creamy notes. The palate has a weighted suppleness, rolling in the mouth and well balanced, juicy yellow fruit with creamy, more savoury elements and a cleansing twist of citrus for a crisp, fresh finish.
Lillies and white grapefruits form the nose. Bright, ripe Meyer lemon and melon flavors are juicy on the palate, with a grass and mineral tones extending on the finish. 89 points, Fiona Adams, Wine Enthusiast.
