Description
The 17th century vaulted cellar of the Castle of the Cave du Château de Chénas has housed its wines since 1934 and from this storied Beaujolais winemaker and ‘the heart’ of black granite soils comes this 100% Black Gamay Fleurie. Made in the traditional Beaujolais style by semi-carbonic vinification the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks to keep the fresh fruit flavours.
A fine spicy nose with light white pepper notes is followed by fresh red fruit and floral undertones and supported by silky tannins. A well balanced palate with an elegant finish makes this an excellent choice to pair with grilled meat, a roasted chicken and ripened cheese. It can also age for up to 10 years.
