Description

A Gran Reserva from the Uco Valley, just southwest of Mendoza.

Smoky and sweet oak, cigar box, rich and ripe black and red fruits, this wine boasts of its complexity and concentration from the first whiff of the glass.

This is a wine to decant or let develop in the open bottle to encourage its generosity to unfold. Intense and structured, it is a great match for rich spicy stews and casseroles, but best of all with fillet steak.

Producer: Amadeo Marañón

The family Marañón has been linked to the wine industry for three generations and is devoted to the production of fine wines with two wineries, one located in Costa de Araujo, in the North East of Mendoza City and the other, with a capacity of 7,500,000 litres, located in the department of Guaymallén, a few minutes from the downtown area. There, the winemakers, Luis Bertagna and Mario Lezcano, are in charge of the blending, ageing and storage of the wines.

Next to the Costa de Araujo winery, is a completely restored guest house with an extraordinary collection of paintings and sculptures. The company was founded in 1951 by Amadeo Marañón and his only daughter, Monica Marañón, was in charge of continuing the legacy, sharing with her father a great passion for wine. Today his son in law, Eduardo José Minetto, manages the running of the company and at present, the incorporation of Pablo Minetto Marañón, grandson of Don Amadeo, symbolizes the continuation of the family tradition.
