From a privileged parcel of Sauvignon Blanc at 750m altitude, the diurnal shift between high day time temperatures and often bitter cold at night ensures the development of characteristic tropical fruit flavours and refreshing acidity to counter.
Quite intense on the nose, with exotic fruit sweetness — passion fruit, guava and pineapple — and grassy, floral elements hinting at something more savoury. Crisp and refreshing from the off, those tropical fruits join pear and melon in a well-rounded mid-palate, with gooseberry and lime providing a clean, mouthwatering finish.
Superb with any shellfish, serve up with pan-fried shrimp in a little garlic butter.
