On the nose, white peach is entwined with smashed lemongrass, basil flowers and hints of grapefruit. Surrounded by old Riesling and Shiraz vines, Voodoo Child comes from a 5 tonne parcel of dry-grown, 1960’s Chardonnay from Claymore’s Shankly vineyard in Watervale. “Commercially it’s pure madness but I just don’t have the heart to rip these great old vines out”, says Claymore owner, Anura Nitchingham.
