Description

Cracking little claret here from the Saint-Martin-du-Puy area on the eastern side of the Entre-Deux-Mers. Vines averaging 35 years old are managed to HVE3 standards, the highest level of environmental stewardship in French viticulture. There’s no oak, just 10 months maturation in stainless steel, so all about the fruit, a 60/40 blend of Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Ruby-garnet in colour and medium-bodied, with classic claret notes of mulberry and plum interlaced with garrigue and wild flowers. The palate is ripe and juicy, black and red berry fruits with hints of thyme and clove, grippy tannins and just the right balance of acidity providing lovely structure and a clean, dry finish.

Serve up with mushroom risotto or anything from the grill or barbecue.
