Impressively fine, rich white from Sauvignon Blanc (95%) and Sauvignon Gris, from mature vines surrounding the château, fermented and aged in French oak barrels.
Pale yellow-silver in colour, this has a magnificent nose of mango, citrus and white flowers, intermingling with brioche and vanilla from the oak. The palate is plump and juicy, full fruited and luxurious with a fine minerality that stretches the length, revealing rich complexity with a real elegance. It’s fabulous.
The original Château La Bastide was built during the Hundred Years’ War, in 1472, located on one of the highest points of the village of Cocumont. The current stately home, rebuilt after a fire in 1721, is today owned by the Lafitte family, who manage 6 vineyards around the château.
