Château du Moulin Noir Lussac-Saint-Émilion 2012

Description

This is super stuff — warm, velvety, chocolately, with masses of complexity and richness wrapped in a warm blanket of pillow-soft tannins and big flavours of coffee, milk chocolate, date and plum pudding. There’s almost a Port-like quality to this — medium-bodied and brick red in appearance — with intermingling layers of cedar, leather and truffle, lined with powdery tannins and hints of coffee bean and cocoa.

Superb oak-aged, Merlot-based blend from eminent Saint-Émilion satellite. Château du Moulin Noir is a blend of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), aged for 12 months in French oak barrels, one quarter new.

An excellent option to have with beef.
