The Clos de la Tourelle vineyard, planted entirely with Pinot Blanc, is part of the Château d’Ollwiller estate in Wuenheim, one of only two castles in Alsace to produce wine under the name “château”.
Beautifully clean and white-gold in colour, the really fine bubbles pop out fine aromas of pineapple and hazelnut. The palate is super clean and fresh, green pear and apple with hints of pineapple and stone-fruit coming through on the mid-palate, with a minerally finish and a twist of citrus.
It’s important not to have this too cold or you’ll lose a lot of the subtlety but serve as an aperitif, or with seafood, particularly grilled fish, sushis and desserts.
