The small Orschwiller - Kintzheim winery, created in 1957 has become a wine cooperative of 80 wine growers, with a focus on sustainability. Located in the heart of Alsace, in Orschwiller, Kintzheim and Saint Hippolyte, the vineyards benefit from good sun exposure and offer a diversity of soils. Among those soils are the slopes of the Grand cru Praelatenberg, which belonged in 823 to the prelates of Ebersmunster, offering fruity and aromatic Riesling and Gewurztraminer.
Using traditional wine-making methods and cutting-edge equipment, the company aims to preserve the aromatic potential of the wines by keeping them all year long at a controlled temperature of 13°C and this is coupled with a long standing commitment to sustainability and carbon footprint reduction, making bottles and packaging from recycled glass and fibres. In 2013, the wines were awarded 27 gold medals in different European wine competitions.
