Description

This bottle divided us initially but take it cold from the fridge and it’s a real statement on a table or counter-top, and just wait til you taste it. It’s taken from old vines around the Adegas Carallán winery, 6 hectares on south-facing slopes between the Miño and Tea rivers in Albariño-heartland, Rias Baixas. The wine is fermented then left on the lees for 4 months for added texture and palate weight.

Lemon-yellow in colour, the nose is quite pronounced, pear, mandarin and stone-fruit with herbal and floral characters, lemon balm and magnolia. The palate’s magnificent, textured and rich with a fine balance of fruit, floral characters and minerality, finishing clean with a crisp citrus acidity. Really delicious.

At its best with seafood and working particularly well with grilled prawns, calamari or sushi.
