Opulent style with intriguing notes of dark cherry, tar and forest floor. The intense, decadent palate shows great openness and generosity with lots of plush leather ripe berry and burnt toffee flavours. Big and brash. Nebbiolo vies with Sangiovese (of Chianti and Brunello fame) for the title of Italy’s top grape. It is the variety behind the great Piemontese wines of Barolo, Barbaresco, Roero and Gattinara. This rich, lovely example is matured for two years in barrel (previously-used Slavonian oak) prior to release.
