SaleGrapes come from a 35 year old Silvaner vineyard in Gau-Algesheim’s St. Laurenzikapelle where the soil is dominated by marl and limestone. The grapes are harvested by hand according to ripeness, gently crushed in the winery and left to stand in their own juice, then fermented with wild yeasts in stainless steel, and bottled in the spring after 4 months on the lees.
Intense spice and yellow fruits on the nose, the palate itself dominated by lush pear and ripe apple flavours. There’s a lot of structure of the finish, fine freshness with a gentle creaminess, and finishing dry.
