This is a wonderfully elegant yet rich and characterful Piemontese red, 100% Dolcetto from the small Belcolle family estate.
It’s unoaked, simply picked and vinified for about a week in stainless steel. The colour is a brilliant ruby red, deep and vivid with a purplish tinge. Full, smooth and rounded in the mouth, with aromas of bashed red berries, hints of cured meats, floral aromas, herbs and wild garrigue, all beautifully pulled together on a backbone of chalky tannins and gentle, cleansing acidity.
Pairs brilliantly with robust pasta dishes like roasted aubergine in a rich tomato sauce, game or mushroom risotto.
