Typically dark in colour (it’s Nero after all) with purple reflections, the nose here is wonderfully fresh fruited with plum, blackberry and raspberry to the fore, with floral (rose) and herbal notes in the mix. There’s no oak here, nor is it needed with the grippy tannins of the grape supporting sweet red fruits and integrating beautifully with savoury elements of coffee bean, vanilla, cocoa and truffle. Fully organic Nero d’Avola from Sicily’s north-west.
