Alfacinha Lisboa Branco 2023

Lisboa is one of the most important Portuguese wine regions by vineyard area and production, extending about 150km north from the capital Lisbon but clinging to the coast. The climate is temperate with the inflence of the Atlantic, with relatively warm summers, mild, cooler and humid in areas closer to the sea, warmer and drier in areas protected by the Montejunto mountain range.

Alfacinha — a popular term for natives of Lisbon — is a blend of Arinto and Fernão Pires, fermented in small stainless steel vats. As approachable as the Alfacinha themselves, and highly aromatic with floral and citrus fruit aromas, the palate is beautifully fresh, balanced in body and acidity, with soft pear and melon flavours and a lemony twist at the end.

Try this with a bit of grilled octopus, calamari or those ridiculously tasty pastéis de nata (custard tarts, yeah we have) from Lisbon.
