Negroamaro is a black grape variety most associated with southern Italy, and in particular Puglia, where the warm Mediterranean climate allows the drought-resistant, heat-loving grape to ripen easily.
This young, unoaked version from the Schola Sarmenti vineyards in Salento is lustrous ruby-violet in colour with a warm, dark-fruited nose and a smooth wash of ripe plum, pepper spice and soft coffee. Rich, smooth and easy drinking from start to finish.
Perfect on its own or with meatballs with fennel and ricotta.
