Selected from the very best native Douro grapes of the 2012 vintage, this vintage-designated wine was aged for three years in large oak barrels before going into bottle. Dried black fruits dominate the nose – dates, prunes, raisins – with savoury elements of black olive, espresso and orange peel, and oriential spices, cloves, juniper and star anise coming through on the pallet. Just wonderful.
