After a few decades working their land and vines for other producers, Dimas and Isabel García decided at the end of the 1990s it was time to build their own winery, for the future of their family and their vineyards. It’s a decision we’re extremely grateful for — this is a small farm, just 15 hectares of Mencía vines up to a century old, that we get to enjoy as single estate wines.
Two of the couple’s four children, Marcos and Elena, run operations today; Marcos in the vineyard and cellar, Elena the driving force behind the family’s growing success domestically and internationally, with glowing reviews from the likes of Luis Gutiérrez and James Suckling.
