Garrocha family vineyards and winery were established in 1945 by Francisco Caetano Macieira, the man behind the famous moustache that adorns one of the winery’s signature wines today. Current owner and winemaker is also Francisco Maciera, the founder’s great grandson and the fourth generation to produce wines from the three family estates just outside Lisbon. All grapes come from the family’s vineyards with Portuguese varietals such as Touriga Nacional, Sousão and Maria Gomes planted alongside international varietals like Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo (Tinta Roriz) and Sauvignon Blanc.
