The Dufouleurs have been around a bit in Burgundy, with 14 generations involved in growing and winemaking going back to Gilles Dufouleur in 1596. Father and son Guy and Yvan, 13th and 14th generation respectively, are the current custodians, with vineyard holdings amounting to 27 hectares over eleven appellations across the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits.
Despite the 400 years + of history, these are modern wines, with head winemaker Yvan utilizing modern techniques and technology to complement generations of knowledge passed down. The wines are fresh and accessible when young, accentuating the immaculate fruit. Vineyards have been organic since 2000, with yields and quality stringently controlled by green harvesting and hand sorting of grapes after picking.
