Domaine Fond Croze

Modern chic-looking Domaine Fond Croze is actually over 100 years old. Founded by Charles Long at the end of the First World War, Charles returned from the great battle and settled with his family in Saint Roman de Malegarde, a small village of 300 inhabitants in the north of Vaucluse, behind the villages of Cairanne and Rasteau. He acquired his first land, cultivating vines, melons, peach and apricot trees. A few years later, his son Raymond joined him and, little by little, the two developed the farm to nearly 25 hectares of land, planted mostly with vines and olive trees.

Daniel and Bruno Long, Raymond’s sons, joined the family business from a very young age and in 1997 created the modern vision of the traditional family farm, Domaine Fond Croze. Upgrades were made to the winery and more land was acquired, and by 2009 they began the conversion to organic cultivation of the now 80 hectares. Today, Fond Croze produces a stunning range of organic wines from the multitude of terroirs available to them, from consistently superb Côtes du Rhône blends, to cru villages, to single varietals from prized individual plots.
