Situated in the beautiful Clare Valley in South Australia, Claymore Wines is now in its third decade. Claymore’s founder and owner, Anura Nitchingham has three great loves in his life – wine, music and football – and he celebrates all of them through the winery he began in the 1990s, having arrived there with his family after a successful medical career back in the UK.
Today his range of award winning wines include Liverpool FC related drops such as the Robbie Fowler Signature Shiraz, the ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ Grenache and Sauvignon Blanc and the ‘This is Anfield’ Sparkling wine. In addition to his great passion for Liverpool, Anura also entwines his love of music into the vision for his varietals and names his wines after his favorite songs and albums through time. Wines such as the ‘Bittersweet Symphony’ Cabernet Sauvignon and the ‘London Calling’ Cabernet Malbec have struck a chord with music and wine lovers, bringing new layers of personal and multi-generational connection.
With years of internal European vineyard experience as well as positions at Peter Lehman and Tin Shed Wines, the eighth generation winemaker, Nathan Norman, oversees all vineyard and wine making operations and ensures each vintage consistently brings the best the region has to offer.
