Ordering wine
It is against the law to sell or supply wine to persons under 18 years of age in the Republic of Ireland. Our acceptance of any order is based on the purchaser and recipient being at least 18 years old.
Upon delivery, if our couriers are in doubt of the age of the recipient of an order they are required to request proof of age. In the event that this is not satisfied they are not permitted to leave the wine.
Products, pricing and descriptions
All products on our website are offered subject to availability. We cannot guarantee the availability of products, however should a product not be available we will contact you to offer a substitute product or similar solution to fulfill your order.
All prices on our website are including VAT applicable in Ireland.
Whilst we work hard to ensure the details and pricing on our website to be accurate, occasionally errors may appear.
Please note, while we try to keep our product images fully up to date, the bottle in the image displayed for any wine may vary slightly from the one received due to a change in vintage or packaging design.
The vintage should also be accurate although vintage rollovers occur in real time as stocks of an old vintage run out and stocks of a new vintage replace it. Should you have a particular concern that the vintage you receive is as displayed at the time of purchase please include a note with your order and we can notify you in advance of dispatch if it is not the case.
If you have ordered a product that is erroneously described or priced, we will contact you prior to delivery to advise you of the correct details. You may choose to cancel your order if you are unhappy receiving the product with the correct description and price.
We reserve the right to change prices at any time.
Delivery
We provide a weekday (Monday to Friday) delivery service in the Republic of Ireland and Northern Ireland. Delivery is free on orders over €100 in value, while a small delivery charge of €10 will apply to cover our costs on orders less than that.
In normal circumstances, orders received before 12pm Monday to Friday will be dispatched the same day. The only exceptions to this are bank and public holidays where we may be closed, or if a wine you have ordered is out of stock and we can’t contact you in time to confirm a replacement or refund.
We have been working with Fastway Couriers since we started selling wine online in 2008 and they deliver nationally on our behalf. Delivery is normally the next working day following dispatch, however occasionally this can be a little longer, if there’s an issue completing delivery or during busy periods such as Christmas. We ask you allow up to 3 working days for delivery from the date of dispatch. If by this time you have not received your wine you should contact us and we can follow up on your behalf.
The person receiving the delivery will be required to sign for it and must be able to prove they are over 18 years of age.
Delivery to the islands will normally be to the local ferry point only, we can not provision for local ferry services.
Accuracy of details
It is the responsibility of the purchaser to provide correct and accurate delivery address details. We cannot be held responsible for the misdirection, delay or loss of an order in the event that an incorrect delivery address has been provided. While we will do everything we can to assist, any losses, costs of recovery and/or costs of resending the order will be borne by the purchaser.
Gifts
If purchasing wine as a gift, the same criteria outlined in the Delivery section above apply to the receiver, in terms of age and the right of the courier to refuse to leave wine. The name and billing address of the purchaser will be included with the wine for the receiver, unless you specifically request for this information to be withheld.
Cancellation
You can cancel your order right up to the point of dispatch and we will refund your order in full within 7 days.
If an order is cancelled after dispatch but before delivery, you should refuse delivery and ask the courier to return to sender citing cancellation of order. In this event we will refund your order within 7 days of receipt of the order back to our warehouse, up to a maximum of 14 days from the date of our original dispatch.
You can also cancel and return your order up to 14 days after you have received it, however you will be responsible for the safe return to us and all goods must be undamaged and in a resalable condition. A refund as appropriate will be provided within 7 days of receipt by us.
Breakages
We’re shipping glass so very occasionally, and despite our very best efforts, breakages happen. As soon as we’re made aware of this, we will dispatch your order again at the earliest opportunity. You should never accept a parcel from us that appears damaged, in the unlikely event that this happens you can refuse receipt and ask the courier to return to sender.
Faults
As wine is a natural product, often using natural cork as a stopper, occasionally faults can occur. If you receive a wine that you believe to be faulty you can contact us for a replacement or refund.
Returns
You can return all or part of your order up to 14 days after you have received it, however you will be responsible for the safe return to us and all goods must be undamaged and in a resalable condition. You can also return the order in person to us at our Cork warehouse. A refund as appropriate will be provided within 7 days of receipt by us.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with any aspect of our service, products or website, please contact us by any method outlined below. Your complaint will be treated with the highest importance and sensitivity. You will be responded to within 72 hours and your complaint resolved within 7 days.
Right to refuse
We are a small family business, at our happiest and best serving and helping people enjoy our wines. We reserve the right not to accept any order and any abuse, aggression or general aggravation towards our staff will result in us refusing to serve you. Your legal rights will not be affected but you can go elsewhere for your wine.
