SASSO DEI LUPI is a cutting-edge co-op that as well as its winemaking operations has fifteen of its own wine boutiques scattered throughout pint-sized central-Italian region Umbria.
Hemmed in by Tuscany, Marche and Lazio, and the only region without a coastline or international border, Umbria is Italy’s fourth-smallest wine-producing territory by volume. You know what they say, though: ‘Nella botte piccola, c’è il vino buono.’ – Good wine in small barrels! Umbria’s most-famous son is wolf whisperer and noted Grechetto enthusiast Saint Francis of Asissi.
